This series tracks the re-build and repatriation of a WWII flying boat, back to its original base in San Diego USA – via the west coast of Africa, across the Atlantic Ocean to Brazil – across the Amazon, the Caribbean and onto the USA.

This documentary series takes us through the history of the aircraft – starting with her rescue and near total re-build; the largest of its kind anywhere in the world. We follow the trip through torrential weather, fuel fears and oil leaks, across the world, bringing the flying boat back to its original home. The series provides stunning air-footage of the countries it travels over and ends with Catalina carrying out water landings around San Diego – proving her status as the most famous active flying boat in history.
